Jack the Ripper
An unusual topic for a musical comedy but the cast made it work. It was funny, lively and at times, quite poigniant. It tells the story of tho poor people of London in the eighteenth century. Drinking, prostitution and violence were all part of everyday life but the people kept a cheerfull spirit and did what they had to do to survive.
There outanding performances by Rebecca Gotts, Sarah Rathbone, Lesly Dawson and Trish Kreft.
Dave Montgomery gave an excellent performance as the MC and Neil Browne was suitable scary as "The Ripper". Leon Kreft headed a group of "boys" of doubtful character.
All members of chorus supported the effort as song after song grabbed the imagination and brought the whole thing to life.
Thanks to director Dave Watson and all the production crew and cast for a very enjoyable and moving show.
