Sunday 28th April 2019 saw us taking part in the annual St. George's Day fete at Dussindale park. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't as pleasant as the previous year or, indeed, the fabulous Easter holiday period. Nevertheless, we all had a lot of fun and used the event to publicise our June production of Hi-de-Hi by some of us strolling around in holiday camp blazers! Here's a few photos of the event.
Armistice Day Centenary Event Nov 10th 2018
An evening of music, poetry and sketches Thank you everyone for everything you did to make this event a success. It was a bit of an epic day...… Our performance on the night was well received and we raised £300 from the donations and the raffle. We have had a very warm message of thanks from the Royal British Legion. |

River Green WW1 Memorial Garden July 2018
On Saturday July 21st Thorpe Players were involved at the Council's invitation in the opening of the First World War Centenary Commemorative Garden, on River Green. Several members wore period costumes funded by Thorpe St Andrew Town Council to help add atmosphere to the event. Soldiers, elegant ladies in their finery and a couple of nurses could be seen wandering about engaging with members of the public and a great time was had by all involved. There was a real communal atmosphere where everyone came together and witnessed a short, moving service held by Father James followed by a short selection of poetry and aided by the Occasional Garden Singers choir who had also been singing earlier in the Parish Church during the Parish Church Summer fete…it was a busy day!
