The Thorpe Players return in June 2026
with

Thornton Wilder and Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of
THE BEAUX’ STRATAGEM
a comedy by George Farquhar

George Farquhar's restoration comedy was first produced
at the Theatre Royal, London in 1707.

In 1939 Thornton Wilder began his adaptation but never finished it.
In the summer of 2004 Wilder's estate asked Ken Ludwig to
complete the adaptation and the resulting play had its
world première production in November 2006.

Join us at Roxley Village Hall for this classic farce that abounds with unrequited love, deception, misunderstanding and hilarity!

Performances will take place on
Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June 2026.

Yes, of course the cast of a show are very important to its success. However, there are always more people behind the scenes working hard long before the production has its opening night.
Along with the Director and Producer there are a host of other duties to be performed to get the show on the road. Namely:
Stage Manager, Set Design, Set Construction, Scenic Painter, Set Dressing, Properties, Wardrobe, Hair Dresser, Lighting and Sound, Prompter, Programme Editor, Programme Setting , Social Media, Box Office, House Manager, Bar Manager, Raffle Co-ordinator, Stewards etc.
So, whatever your age, if you have any talents you'd like to share, then come and join our Production Team. And, of course, we are always looking for new actors too! Drop us a line via our Contact page and we'll get in touch.
